Veterans Park, 608 W. Lake St., was established in 2009 along the Tawas River. It is adjacent to City Hall, creating additional parking, a boardwalk along the river for fishing and access to launch a canoe or kayak.

Parking: The Corsair Picnic Area on the west side of Monument Road; the Wrights Lake lot located on Tuttle Road; the Silver Valley Lot on the east side of Monument Road

Over 26 miles of trails and loops flank Monument Road. The network of trails known as the Corsair Trail has three trailheads, each about seven miles northwest of East Tawas. The Corsair Picnic Area is on the west side of Monument Road; Wright’s Lake is off Tuttle Road, which is on the east side of Monument Road; and Silver Valley, also on the east side of Monument Road. There are parking areas and pit toilet facilities at each of the trailheads.
