Oktoberfest is held at the Harvey Kern Community Pavilion. The site was built for festivals just like this that take place throughout the year in Frankenmuth. It holds up to 5,000 people. Authentic music and entertainment from Germany is featured on the Oktoberfest stages as well as entertainers from the U.S. Everyone can raise a glass or join in the song and dance. The city of Munich, Germany gave this Oktoberfest its official blessing in 1996.
Summer is also time for the annual Bavarian Festival and parade – a celebration of the life and culture of Frankenmuth’s German ancestors. Hundreds of people are part of the parade that includes floats, marching bands and the festival princess with her court.
One of Frankenmuth’s most popular summer events is the Summer Music Fest, which goes on for more than a week. Dozens of music acts take the stages. The variety includes traditional polka, contemporary Christian, rock and pop. Concert-goers enjoy national performers along with all that Frankenmuth has to offer.
