Katie Hollingsworth-DuCharme - Rapid City, MI
I was blown away. Ray Hollingsworth was my father who passed away June 14, 2010 from ALS. He was diagnosed in Sept 2008 and this had been his last "season" skiing and grooming at Ogemaw Hills. It was amazing to hear his voice and see him in his element. He absolutely LOVED and respected the outdoors; enjoying fishing, hunting, trapping, skiing, cutting wood and caring for land and animals (he was the county loon ranger for several years!). Word spread quickly through our family of this clip and it has been extremely healing for all of us as his decline since diagnosis was quite rough; he lost the ability to speak more than 9 months prior to his passing and also suffered from a frontal-temporal lobe dementia (which accompanies ALS in rare cases) in addition to slowly losing voluntary muscles which include the diaphragm. Thank you for continuing to air this show.
With heartfelt thanks. Katie
- Sympathies from the entire Great Getaways family for your loss.
