Hi Tom,
I remember seeing a show a while back from I believe it was Cummings Michigan where a man had a miniature train that you could go and ride on... He talked about fall train rides etc. I would like to find out where it is, and what the train schedule is. keep up the good work on the show, my family and I enjoy it very much. We are big PBS t.v. fans. Our daughter is Kelly Gotch, co-host and associate producer of Michigan Out Of Doors. Have a great day.
Teresa Gotch

OK--we're confused. We just caught a neat show about an October hike, etc., near Oscoda. At the end the trailer said: "For a free DVD of this show, please contact Greatgetaways.tv". Can't find that, especially free. Sure enjoyed the show--this is our country. I grew up in Tawas, spend summers here and intend to retire here.
Thanks.
Nancy Borosch
Hi Nancy,
I am not sure where you saw the show, it's called Hiking the Highbanks. It's not running on any of the regular PBS channels. Could you tell me where you are from and what station you saw it on? Oscoda is offering a free DVD of this show you can call and request it at 1-877-8OSCODA.Sincerely

i would like to book a canadian fishing get-away for my wife and three sons-- two of which are young boys aged six & eight. we're especially interested in a fly-in to a lake with cabins which include guides that take you out in their boats. i've seen such get-aways featured on some of your past shows. would you please help place me in contact with some possibilities. we live near the mackinaw bridge and would like to find someplace near sault ste. marie, canada as a beginning point. thank you, tom. ps. have been a long-time fan of your show...
john

Hi Tom,
Enjoy your program very much. A friend of ours is looking for information regarding your "A Mariner's Adventure" #436 program - we think. She saw it Saturday on cable (which we don't have); her grandson is a piper, so she was very touched by that portion of the program, and she would like to get for him the book which was listed in the credits, but they went by too fast for her to catch the name. Could you send me the name? Thank you for your help. Keep up the good work.
Yours in quality outdoor adventure,
Vicki Repik
Hello, Here is a link to the lighthouse where the piper plays. You can also inquire about the book available by writing to or call 1-800-268-3838. |

I believe you are spending too much time promoting Canada. Our Michigan economy needs all the help it can get. I understand going to border Great Lakes states, but we have so much to offer in the USA. Please consider this in your upcoming programming.
Thank you, TOM

I just became aware of the Fireman's Memorial this fall because one of my cousins was honored and his name added to the wall. I was shown pictures of the event and was wondering just where it was located so I could visit it on one of my next trips up that way. What a pleasant surprise to see it featured on the program today. Great program - the Higgins Lake area is so wonderful. |
