Excellent. I have already been in the Owen Sound area and seen a few of the falls featured on your program, but didn't realize there were many more to see. Thank you. |

It was the 1st time I have ever seen the program. It was wonderful. I love nature. I have lung problems that are slowly getting better and I am looking forward to getting out to do things I couldn't do for such a long time. |

It is nice to get an overview from pros since sometimes the locals are not as aware of things which outsiders think they might be aware of, such as the locals not knowing of the ecological center in Schoolcraft County. |

I thought it was a very informative episode. I enjoy the fact that you gave information on places that are not well known so that we can visit places that are not as crowded as the most popular places. |

I absolutely loved it. It has been a while since I have done some hiking but your show rekindled that desire. |

I really liked the video that you took as you walked the trails and talked about your getaways. |

On Saturday, July 5th, we went kayaking on the AuSable River out of Oscoda. We rented our kayaks through the same outfitters as your show does. We told them we had seen them on your show and we did ask about the milkweed too. We plan to kayak the AuSable again in the fall to see the color and more wildlife. Everyone on the river was very friendly by showing us their day's catch and being offered adult beverages. Thanks for the two great shows about the AuSable and Oscoda. |

I found it interesting that so many places are not well known. I've been to the Manistique area and didn't know that so many places were so close. It was also very interesting that some places were forgotten. |

I recently saw your program about Manistique Enviromental Lab but find nothing to show me where to go for the hike. Could you point me in the right direction?
Hi Debbie,
Thanks for watching Great Getaways! There is not much information to be
found online about the Environmental Lab in Manistique, but everything we
were able to collect and put together is right here:
Hope that helps.

Great show. My wife's not a traveler, but she was very interested in this show and a possible vacation on the Gray-Bruce Garden Tour next summer. Last year I found the show on motorcycle touring in Gray-Bruce very enjoyable. |

It was great. The gardens are absolutely beautiful. I definately plan to visit. |

Beautiful! We'll be traveling in Ontario twice this summer & fall. I especially want to visit the Garden RR. We only caught the last part of that segment after a neighbor called to tell us to "turn on PBS". We have a garden RR - micro-sized compared to what I saw. Next we'll be tuning into your lighthouse tour on WTVS, Detroit - another of our interests Thanks. Doug Koch |

Only caught a few minutes while cooking dinner but always enjoy a lighthouse show. I am a lighthouse junkie. It was immensely interesting but moved along very fast and I had a hard time writing down links and other information (incidently with food on my hands), thus the lighthouse tour guide will be helpful. thank you Loren Harper |

Dear Mr. O'boyle and crew, I watch your show here in Orlando on a local station and enjoy your program very much. I used to go hunting in the LP of your state in the 80's and early 90's and if I had known about all the other outdoor oriented places to see there, I probably would have made summer vacations there as well. My wife wants to go to Frankenmuth (sorry if I spelled it wrong). After viewing your show she said she wants go there. I was born here in Orlando and have lived here 46 years and I enjoy now more than ever to visit places that are nature made instead of man made. Your state has made it to our top 5 places to go in the not to distant future because of your show. Sincerely, Steve Ball Orlando, FL |

It was a nice show just like all the ones I've seen so far. It's nice and refreshing to see a show about hiking, canoeing, and the beauty of Michigan, even though your show does not get in too deep about camping but it shows nice places where you can camp, which is something that we (or I at least) need. I like to fish and hunt but that's the only shows on tv that they have.
I don't understand why, but I'm grateful for your show and look forward every Saturday to watch it. My fiance and I are avid campers, camping is what I live for. My second week of vacation this year I'm taking in October and I was considering camping for a week in the Houghton area, I was really considering North Higgins Lake State Park, which one of your earlier shows I caught was about. Thanks for having a great show with some great information and being able to see what each destination is like before you even go there. Keep up the good work, I hope that your show will still be on for years to come, It's one of a kind.

I loved the trip through the park and the mention of wheel chair accessibility. Not being from the area, I also was happy to hear of a clean and friendly hotel/motel that was available. I do hope you will send me the DVD even though I am from Canada. I would love to visit the area. It seems like a jewel in the crown of the great Lakes. Kathryn Jowett |

Loved the show!
I think this will be a place I will take my grand kids to see.
The filming was great! It was like having a mini vacation at home! The only thing missing was smelling the air, feeling the breeze and my grand children!
I WOULD LIKE TO EXPLORE ALL OF THE UP!
Thank you!

I thought that it will be a wonderful trip for my wife and our boys (3 and 5) and I to take next summer.
We have been talking about going further north next year after our upper LP tour that we took last week.
I think the canoe trip will be perfect for us.
I can't wait to show my family this show, it will get our planning going for next summer's vacation.

We love hiking and waterfalls and often plan our vacations around these activities. We also often go to Ontario so it was great to see your show on waterfalls in Ontario. We've been to a few of them in the Hamilton/Toronto area but haven't yet ventured this far north. Thanks for the inspiration to plan another trip! |

Really enjoy your show overall. You do a good job showing folks what these recreation/vacation areas are like from a truly realistic vantage point. Having been a bike rider for 50 years my wife and I really enjoyed your "Born to be Wild" show this past Sunday and are looking forward to duplicating the trip ourselves next summer.
That you for the bike guide and related information.

Just watched the "Mid-Michigan" show on channel 56 and particularly enjoyed learning about the family friendly features of the Rifle River camping area. My wife and I are retirees with a canoe and 3 year-old black lab and a fall trip to the above area is the sort of trip we would greatly enjoy. |

I have been born and raised in Michigan and it still amazes me when I watch a show such as yours. I rally appreciate the new and beautiful places in this great state I was not aware of. Even spending the next 50 years only exploring MI I am sure I will miss something.
I appreciate and enjoy your show!
Thanks,
Jeff |

My wife and I watch your shows and we have already taken a vacation to one of your locations that we had seen on one of your shows. We went to the Ausable River and camped out. We had a great time then. We just watched this one about the Rifle River. We are now planning our vacation for this Oct. to go to the Rifle River. (I just got a new fly rod fishing pole, can't wait to use it). We are looking forward to having a great time.
Thank you for the suggestion, looks like a lot of fun. |

Awesome!! I hate seeing summer come to an end, but this show made me hungry for fall. I have been familiar with Rifle River and have associated it with a "party river", so tend to stay away. This show "showed" me that there is so much there to see!! I'm ready. Gonna open the camper and prepare for a fall trip. |

Great show, but I wish it was on the h.d. station
Great Getaways is broadcast in HD where available. The show has been shot in HD for a while now, and will be broadcast that way as local stations convert to the newest technology.
