Michiganders, in general, like to complain about the weather. All winter long we moan about how cold it is, how much snow we have, etc. Then, the first time it gets above 75 degrees, we start in about how hot it is! It was terrific to watch a show that glorified winter and all the sports that cold weather and snow make possible. It made me feel grateful to live up North!

I've launched from the boat lauch there on McKeever Lake. When I was in Boy Scouts about 10-odd years ago, we took a weekend trip and canoed across McKeever to the peninsula on the other side and camped there. Launch works fine for canoes, maybe not for trailers.

I was at that gazebo last July. It was so relaxing. The water's surface is teeming with life ... all manner of insects including ones that walk on water and birds of all sizes swooping down and gobbling them up. I was there for a half hour just marveling at all the miracle of life.

We just got back from the UP...we just didn't have enough time up there...again. Lol Every visit we explore something new. Our favorite find this trip was North Beach on Grand Island in Munising. A close second was hiking to Hidden Beach near Marquette. I love seeing all of the beautiful places you show us in Michigan.

I love Forest Highway 13. When I was a kid, my Dad and I camped at the Widewaters Campground every summer and spent our time exploring and fishing. Now, whenever I go back and forth to the Superior shore, I always use that route. Good memories and such a nice drive.

Love Crossroads village. The train rides are the best but walking around the 'downtown' area is fun too. Looks like one of those towns you see in a 'shoot em up western' movie except there's no hitching posts.

It was very interesting and hope to visit the sites next winter. I have been to the areas at other times but not during the holidays and would like to do that. Episode 1116, celebrating the Christmas festivals.
